In a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately world, it’s not enough for public relations professionals to prove ROI. You have to do more than that. Your clients have to believe in your value. And since seeing is believing, nothing can touch the storytelling power of a highlights video when communicating your successes with the CMO or the CEO.

Five months ago, I was ending my internship at Weber Shandwick in the Digital Video department and beginning my journey with AKA MEDIA INC. My time at Weber was a great experience characterized by learning about the industry, growing in my video editing and graphic design skills, and being busier than I ever had before. But as new horizons provide new beginnings, I looked ahead to my employment at AKA and fitting in with a new work environment.

When you work in marketing you quickly realize that every day is a holiday. Such is the case with my favorite snack, peanut butter and jelly. The only problem is there’s a complete lack of peanut butter and jelly related items in your local grocery store. Sure you could make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. But where’s the ice cream, candy bars, pop tarts, donuts or even cookies that could be bursting with the best flavor combination known to man?
Here at AKA we take peanut butter and jelly seriously. Which is why this year, for the first time, we are going to celebrate it. April 2nd, 2012 is the official Peanut Butter and Jelly Day. This is the day we will all bring in a hopefully delicious treat to share with one another. From cupcakes to brownies, from sodas to shakes, everything and anything we can think of will be peanut butter and jellied. And to get the ball rolling I have documented my first endeavor at making a peanut butter and jelly cereal below.

As an editor, I rarely get a chance to get out of my dark little office and interact with producers, clients and crews on location. So when an opportunity arose I volunteered myself, and my house, for the job! Ace Hardware was looking for a location to shoot some how-to painting videos and I had some rooms in need of painting.
